General Guidelines
1. Proposed projects must clearly benefit the general public or broader community and cannot primarily benefit one organization.
2. Partnerships between local government, residents and community-based organizations are highly encouraged.
3. Must directly benefit or enhance image and beautification. Examples:
Community Gateways - Projects that will enhance the appearance of major community arteries or gateways through improved signage, landscaping or lighting.
Neighborhoods - Projects that enhance the appearance of a neighborhood and that encourage adjacent residents to maintain, clean or otherwise improve the attractiveness of their properties.
Artistic - Art projects or other improvements which are primarily visual in nature.
Awareness and Involvement - Projects that will heighten community awareness, support or involvement in community image and beautification and/or revitalization efforts.
4. Image and Beautification funds are intended to be used for projects that fall outside the normal scope of local government authority. Therefore, proposed projects cannot supplant what otherwise would be considered a routine local government expense or responsibility.
