Developer Selected for Former UPMC Braddock Site

The vacant UPMC Braddock Hospital site will see positive activity in the near future as a developer has been selected.

Trek Development Group of Pittsburgh wants to construct a 90-unit senior citizen housing complex that will include a clinic and serve as a branch location of Community College of Allegheny.

Following the sudden announcement of the hospital's demise two years ago, County Executive Dan Onorato and other officials suggested a similar use for the property, and Trek's plans follow such recommendations.

Trek Development Group, which has experience on projects in the Hill District and Kittanning, is currently working on the Century Building in downtown Pittsburgh, converting it into a 60-unit residential facility.
