Bill Flanagan Is Guest Speaker At EZCB Annual Dinner At Mary's Vine In Rankin

(12/17/2019) - The Enterprise Zone Corporation serving Braddock, North Braddock, Rankin and Swissvale held its 32nd Annual Dinner on December 17, 2019 at Mary's Vine in Rankin.

The guest speaker was Bill Flanagan, Chief Corporate Relations Officer, Allegheny Conference on Community Development and host of WPXI's "Our Region's Business". The EZCB has been selected to participate in the Allegheny Conference's Strengthening Communities Partnership. The program is designed to assist in bringing private investment to communities that show potential through the State tax credit program.

The EZCB's EastShore Initiative, which has been undertaking activities to promote the area, was highlighted.

Also in attendance was Lance Chimka, Executive Director of the Allegheny County Department of Economic Development. Mr. Chimka and his staff have been working closely with the Carrie Furnace Steering Committee on the redevelopment of the Carrie Furnace Site. Several EZCB members serve on the committee.
